Are you getting error messages 'Setup could not detect your product', TV Tuner not available' or 'Unable to locate capture filter' after Windows 10 installed an update?
Click on the setting button (Gear) in the lower left of the WinTV v10 application. Then click on the Devices tab and highlight your WinTV device and click Tuner Setup. (see the first picture below). In the Device Setup Wizard, you will see a list of TV formats which your Hauppauge TV tuner can support.Depending upon which Hauppauge tuner you have, you will have a choice of analog, digital. Networking Software. ATI TV Wonder 650, Dvico Fusion tuners, Silicon Dust HDHomeRun, Hauppauge WinTV-Aero-m, Hauppauge WinTV-HVR-850, Hauppauge WinTV.
This is a known 'feature' of the new release of Windows 10, related to video cameras but also affecting TV tuners and video recorders.
The latest versions of WinTV v10, v8.5, WinTV v8 and Hauppauge Capture automatically update the Windows 10 drivers to fix this error message. If you need to manually fix this, click here.

Prodinfo: get information on your Hauppauge TV tuner
Prodinfo.exe is a program you can run which will extract information about the WinTV product you have installed such as model and serial number, MAC address, revision, and features which can be used to identify the exact model of your product. The driver for the device must be installed in order to run Prodinfo.exe
HCWClear: remove the Hauppauge driver and applications from your PC
HCWCLEAR.exe is a program you run to remove all driver and files that were installed with the installation of the WinTV program.
How to find the product code of your Hauppauge product:
Hauppauge product codes on WinTV boards are normally found on the TV tuner. This is a five digit number normally followed by a revision (REV). You need to look at the first two numbers to determine the product type. The other numbers are related to the accessories which are on the product.
On the MediaMVP, WinTV-USB and other 'boxes', the product code is normally on a label on the bottom of the case.

Hauppauge has a new SDK available for .NET applications. The SDK simplifies the development of TV applications in .NET. The SDK makes it easy for applications to perform functions like querying the available channels, start watching a channel in an application supplied window, pause/play, adjust volume, display OSD graphics, record live tv to a file, etc.
The SDK is provided under NDA and can be requested at support@hauppauge.com or sdk@hauppauge.co.uk

Installation notes:
A valid WinTV application CD-ROM will be needed to install this WinTV v7 version. Any WinTV v6 or WinTV 7 application CD can be used during the install.
If you have a WinTV v7.2 CD-ROM with Extend, then the latest version of WinTV Extend will also be installed.

To install the WinTV v7 application update
- Download the WinTV v7 installation package to your PC. After downloading this file, the file is normally saved in the Download directory on your PC
- Run wintv7_cd.exe from the Download directory on your PC
- Click Step 1. Install Drivers. This will install the WinTV Windows driver. At the completion of the driver install, you should see a message which says Drivers have been updated sucessfully.
- Click Step 2. Install WinTV. This will install the WinTV v7 application, 'middleware', TV services and other necessary files.
This will complete the driver and application installation for your WinTV.

Leave your WinTV-HVR-900 plugged into your PC. Follow the following steps:
Wintv Hvr 950q Software
- Download the WinTV-HVR-900 driver update.
- Unzip this file to a directory you will remember, such as WINTV. It will create a new folder. To install, open the folder.
- Run HCWDRIVERINSTALL.EXE.
- This will install the WinTV-HVR base driver. At the completion of the driver install you should see a message which says Drivers have been updated successfully.
WinTV Digital Signal Strength Indicator
The WinTV Digital Signal Strength indicator displays information about the quality of the digital TV channel you are watching. This application is used with the WinTV v6 and WinTV v7 applications.
